Beginning piano students. International method of group instruction that introduces students to the keyboard, music reading, and listening.

Suzuki Violin Beginnings
Ages 3 and up
August 29 – November 17 (12 week session)
Lesson time arranged with parent and student
Cost $230, includes violin rental. Plus $20 materials fee.

These lessons are done in a setting with the parent working directly with the child, as well as practicing at home.  The instruction uses Suzuki trained instructor using Suzuki CDs and music books.  Students perform in the church on All Strings Sunday and may play in a Spring recital if they choose.

These lessons are done with the parent working directly with the child or in a traditional private lesson session.  The instructor uses Suzuki CDs and music books and received training through this method.

Lanier Young Singers (LYS)
Chorus for singers in grades 6 through 12 (unchanged treble voices)
Rehearsals are Mondays from 5:15pm to 6:30 pm in the choir rehearsal room
First rehearsal is September 12th
Cost is $180 for the semester

The choir is open to all students, public school, private school, and home schooled. The group is directed by John Wright and accompanied by Mike Henry. (see Mr. Wright’s bio on the staff page)

Gainesville Youth String Orchestra (GYSO)
Ages 6th grade and up
Begins Wednesday, September 7th and continues through WednesdayNovember 16th.
$50 per month fee includes instrument rental and music book.

Classroom instruction in violin, viola, cello and bass. Parents may observe class at any time. This group performs in the Spring in a Sunday morning church service as well as a Wednesday evening church performance. Students may also perform in a Solo Spring Recital. This class prepares students for the GSO as well as the FBC Youth Orchestra. Wednesdays 5:30 pm to 6:15 pm.

Gainesville String Orchestra (GSO)
Ages Youth through Adult
No cost
For intermediate and advanced violin, viola, cello and bass players.

This is a practice-to-perform group that is underwritten by the Gainesville Symphony Orchestra. Instrumental director Steve Coldiron. This group plays classical as well as light pop music. Concert in the Spring as well as a church performance in the Spring. Private lessons are encouraged, but not mandatory, for all players. Unique opportunity for youth to play alongside adults in a friendly, focused environment. Thursdays 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm.
